Dal Shabet’s Jiyul & Subin share stories about lice and ghosts

Dal Shabet’s Jiyul and Subin made their first variety show appearance on the January 13th episode of KBS 2TV’s “Happy Together 3.”

The girls previously headlined for having earned praises from MC Park Myung Soo, who’s known for being especially harsh towards idols.

Jiyul revealed a story from when she was studying abroad in England and stated that she scratched her head until it bled one day. Her mother, concerned, found that she had lice in her hair, and quickly treated it. Unfortunately, every time she’d come home from school, she’d get lice all over again, leading to Jiyul eventually giving her English friends proper treatment tips.

Although she thought they’d be offended, her friends fortunately accepted the gift and thanked her

Member Subin revealed a story of when she spoke with a ghost in junior high school. She began, “I was a model in junior high, so I lived in Seoul by myself. I had a photoshoot the next day, but at 3 AM I got a call from my manager unni, and a ringtone, Lady Gaga’s ‘Stop Calling,’ began ringing.”

She continued, “I picked up the call and all I heard was weird noise such as ‘nononononono.’ She then told me to bring my underwear, which models already know to bring on their own. It really wasn’t necessary for her to make that call at 3 AM. After time passed, I suddenly thought of what happened and got goosebumps. My phone was actually on vibrate and I never once downloaded the Lady Gaga ringtone.”

Subin met with her manager the next day and asked her why she called, to which her manager replied, “I never called you.”

Subin then put the studio in shock by stating, “I picked up the call, but my phone didn’t have records of it. It didn’t have an incoming record, and only had an outgoing record.”

Rain has trouble using Twitter?

Remember when multi-entertainer Rain returned to the Twitter scene?

On January 8th, the entertainer left an encouraging tweet for MBLAQ members with, “Hello! Everyone, we are finally showcasing the five eagle brothers MBLAQ’s 1st full album. Until now, these five children has done their best. You guys worked hard, my BLAQies. Let’s have some fun.”

Later on the 13th, Rain tweeted again, “Now that I am 30 I would like to change 29rain to 30rain but I don’t know how to do it ㅠ I’ve had Twitter for an year now and I still don’t know how to do anything…ㅠ” For reference, this tweet refers to Rain’s account name. His current account has the name ‘29rain’ because he was 29 years old, but now that an year has passed, he wants to alter it to the more appropriate ‘30rain’.

Netizens who read Rain’s tweets replied, “He was technologically inept. No wonder he did not post any picture, I was wondering why ㅠㅠ” and “Learn from MBLAQ oppas.”

Park Kyung Lim tries to perform INFINITE’s ’scorpion dance’

Broadcast star Park Kyung Lim performed the highly-praised ‘Scorpion Dance’ with the members of INFINITE on her radio show, MBC’s “Starry Night.”

INFINITE guested on the January 11th broadcast, but photos were posted only recently through the “Starry Night” homepage. Fans immediately noticed Park Kyung Lim on the floor trying to pull off the group’s point choreography, the ‘Scorpion Dance.’

The dance is for their comeback song, “Before the Dawn“; there’s a point in the choreography where the members are on the floor with their ‘tails’ up, as if to spit venom.

Amused netizens left comments like, “INFINITE’s eight member is Park Kyung Lim,” “Maybe she can join them on stage,” and “She’s hilarious.”

CNBLUE’s Yonghwa’s “For First-Time Lovers” even beating out Hyun Bin on charts

Soon after the song’s release, CNBLUE’s Jung Yonghwa’s “For First-Time Lovers (Subtitle: ‘Banmal Song’)” has even been beating out Hyun Bin’s “That Man” on various Korean music charts.

On January 14th, Yonghwa’s self-composed “For First-Time Lovers” was released, and it has claimed the number one spot on the real time music charts for Cyworld, Bugs, Soribada, Daum, Naver, and Mnet. While Hyun Bin’s “Secret Garden” OST track, “That Man”, and IU’s “Someday” had maintained strong holds on the top spots of the aforementioned music charts, they all lowered in ranking upon the release of Yonghwa’s song.

Meanwhile, the ‘Yongseo’ couple’s ‘Banmal Song’ UCC video on YouTube has attained nearly 2.5 million views since its release in late December.

2PM’s Nichkhun to become f(x)’s Victoria’s swim coach on “We Got Married” ^^

2PM’s Nichkhun has tranformed into a swim coach for his wife, f(x)’s Victoria.

During the recording of MBC’s “We Got Married,” Nichkhun fulfilled his wish of wanting to teach Victoria how to swim. Victoria, who was always scared of water, got a hardcore personal swim lesson from Nichkhun in the swimming pool at a Thai Hotel.

Nichkhun, who learned intense survival swimming from his parents, showed off his teaching skills as he taught Victoria with an intensive 1-day swimming lesson.

However, as Nichkhun was coaching Victoria, a fatal flaw was found in Nichkhun. It has been revealed that this flaw was something that made him lose his honor as a teacher and husband. Unfortunately, we’ll have to wait until the show’s January 15th broadcast to find out what it is!

GD&TOP’s “Don’t Go Home” banned from MBC....again

Earlier GD&TOP’s “Don’t Go Home” track was banned from MBC for being ‘unfit for public broadcast.’

YG Entertainment officials re-submitted the song for another evaluation, arguing that it had KBS and SBS’s regulations. Unfortunately, MBC stick with their decision, and banned the song again on January 12th.

The reason given by MBC was that the lyrics, especially T.O.P’s rap, was too sexually suggestive for broadcast.

T.O.P’s lyrics state:

“I don’t like awkward settings
Why is the sound of the clock ticking so loud?
All I can hear is the sound of swallowing spit
Look baby, all I want is to greet the morning with you
A secret party for just us two before the night comes to an end
But you’re like Cinderella, you try to go home when the clock hits 12
Being alone makes the night so long
Call in to your parents, don’t try to act tough
S.O.S, advancing seems so far
Oh! wait a minute, why am I like this?
Am I drunk, I’m so dizzy, I’m falling asleep.”

Regarding the ban, G-Dragon stated in an interview, “As opposed to feeling a loss of strength, we’re just disappointed that such unfortunate results were met despite our best efforts. We’re upset in not being able to show a better stage because of the broadcast regulations. It’s unfortunate that they won’t accept it.”

JYJ’s Jaejoong sends a text message to TVXQ’s Yunho

Ever since TVXQ’s Yunho stated that he did not receive any sort of contact from JYJ’s Jaejoong at his press conference yesterday, fans have been furiously debating as to whether his claim was true.

Prior to the response, Jaejoong had stated in an interview, “Personally, I tried to contact Yunho and Changmin, but they did not pick up. I tried to meet them on my own through an associate, but that didn’t go as planned.”

Yesterday, Yunho was asked whether he received any contact from Jaejoong, to which he replied, “That’s not true. We’ve never received contact. And even if we want to contact them, their numbers have changed, so we might not have accepted the call because of the unfamiliar number. There’s been a lot of prank calls lately, it’s difficult for us to take every call.”

On the morning of January 13th, Jaejoong wrote on his Twitter, “I want to reply to this directly, through my own words. They weren’t many, but do you know how hard it was for me to send you those texts? I texted you again right now, please check it.”

Fans have speculated the tweet was a response to Yunho’s press conference statement, and are anxiously waiting for a response.

TVXQ holds a revealing press conference

After a two-year hiatus from the Korean music industry, TVXQ made a triumphant return last week. On January 12th, members Yunho and Changmin held a press conference to discuss the various issues surrounding their comeback.

Yunho started, “We came back for the first time in two years and three months, and I swelled with emotions when I saw how many fans came. I wanted to show everyone an amazing live and worked hard to achieve it, but unfortunately, I caught a cold. Although I received IV treatments, my voice still didn’t improve in the morning, so I worried a lot. It still hasn’t improved yet.”

Changmin added, “I don’t think I was as nervous as I thought I would be. It was really exciting and fun.”

When asked about the efforts they took on as a two-membered TVXQ, Yunho replied, “While preparing for the album with only two members, I thought that I had to make it live up to the standards of ‘TVXQ’. TVXQ was known for its strong performances and lives, so there wasn’t a single thing we could slack off on. We brought about a lot of changes on the high notes, and switched parts for every different genre.”

Changmin said, “There’s pressure in having to carry the name of ‘TVXQ’ as two members. Ever since our debut, Yunho-hyung was known for his dancing, so I didn’t want to bring down the performance. In other words, I didn’t want to lose by comparison (laughter).”

While on the topic of dancing, the reporter brought up the unique point in their choreography where they ‘push down’ on the heads of their backup dancers. Yunho elaborated, “We heard that the vocals for this album were similar to our former albums. We tried to investigate different ways to show off our strengths through the choreography, and so we brought in talented dancers. By putting in moves that were dictated by the beat, we tried to have our choreography express the dignity of TVXQ and to send the following message: ‘We’ll be taking control of the stage.’”

Reporters then turned to the strong bonds between TVXQ and their labelmates. Both Changmin and Yunho revealed, “At the time of our comeback, Lee Soo Man sent us a text saying that we were ‘jackpot.’ He gave us his support, asking us to do our best from now on. Yoo Young Jin also thinks very preciously of TVXQ. The fact that he’s even by our side gave us a source of strength. BoA and Kang Ta also watched and reviewed our first broadcast.”

Then what is the relationship like between Yunho and Changmin? Changmin replied, “Our relationship has gotten stronger over the past two years. His personality is the complete opposite of mine, so there were some conflicts, but I’ve become very affectionate towards him and have come to understand and accept who he is.”

Yunho replied, “If I’m like fire, Changmin is like water. He’s really like my wife. Our personalities began to mesh, and we’ve gotten a lot closer as a result. Don’t lasers shoot from our eyes on stage? We’ve worked hard in preparing something that could stop people from looking at us with worried eyes, and to not disappoint ourselves as well. We’ve come to understand each other like a married couple.”

The interview shifted over to a very sensitive topic: JYJ.

Calmly, Yunho said, “For two years and three months, I waited for those three friends. Since they’re still not here, I figured that someone had to protect ‘TVXQ’ instead of just continuing to wait. ‘TVXQ’ was created as a cumulative effort between a company named SM Entertainment, five members, and our fans. In order to make sure it would never be forgotten, we figured that this would be the best way to protect TVXQ.”

He continued, “I’ve always had a positive mindset, but it’s gotten a lot more positive now. During that difficult time, I would just grabbed a water bottle and ride around on the seven subway lines; sometimes I even went mountain climbing. I felt a lot of affection for the little things. In a way, those difficulties became a sort of ‘happiness’ – I was glad that it had occurred when I was younger, so that I could mature from it. I’m not sure whether this path is right, but I do believe that everything will work out if we all try hard.”

“They were all personal wounds, and the pain from my ‘leader’ role was greater, but not once did I ask anyone to ‘Listen to what I have to say.’ What’s already happened is too big for just the two of us to solve on our own. I believe the answer is to just spare our words on issues regarding the law, and to just work hard on our singing and promotions.”

When asked about their personal thoughts on the dispute between JYJ and SM Entertainment, Yunho replied, “I just want them to hurry up and come back to TVXQ. Under the name of music, everything was great, but further promotions created a difference in values. Those values are personal problems, and I don’t want to go into anything long-winded on that. I just want them to be healthy. The only thing I can ask is for them to come back. The three have crossed the line and have gone too far for us to catch them. I just want them to solve the dispute with our company, and hurry up and come back. It was difficult. It hurt. I felt a sense of resentment against people. As opposed to hate, I was hurt. But I just accepted it all. Honestly, I didn’t have the time to harbor hate against anyone.”

“Once, I met a little kid and I asked him who his favorite singer or group was, and he replied that he liked SNSD. When I asked whether he knew of TVXQ, he said that he didn’t. It may be because he’s young, but it felt disappointing because we weren’t promoting.”

Yunho continued, “Three may have left, but I don’t want ‘TVXQ’ to be forgotten. We have to do well and go down a positive path. Even if it’s just the two of us, we have to protect our name and position.”

Changmin said, “The media has been creating an issue out of it, and the situation has turned into an offensive and defensive battle. I think it’s definite that people are curious for the thoughts from all five of us. What I want to say is that all five exist in this spot because we shared a time of precious hardships.”

When further asked whether he had anything to say to the three JYJ members, he simply said, “No.”

When a reporter mentioned that the JYJ members stated that they tried to contact them, Yunho answered, “That’s not true. We’ve never received contact. And even if we want to contact them, their numbers have changed, so we might not have accepted the call because of the unfamiliar number. There’s been a lot of prank calls lately, it’s difficult for us to take every call.”

Yunho continued, “It’s really frustrating. I hope the media doesn’t confuse our fans. It’s been so noisy lately, I’m really apologetic to not only my fans, but to my family as well.”

Regarding the controversy surrounding their lyrics for “Keep Your Head Down,” Yunho stated, “The lyrics are not the truth, so it cannot be considered as a ‘diss’ against them.”

Changmin added, “A diss is criticizing and attacking the truth. The song can’t be a diss since there is no truth in it.”

Regarding Junsu’s infamous tweet, Yunho said, “When I first read Junsu’s tweet, I thought, ‘He’s making a mistake.’ I can get over what he said about me, but to use the term ‘enemy’ against not only our staff, but to our seniors as well, was not right of him.”

Changmin added, “To label not only Lee Soo Man, but the staff who have suffered for TVXQ as ‘enemies’ isn’t respectful as a human being.”

Both members are currently involved in dramas, with Yunho in “Poseidon” and Changmin in “Paradise Ranch.”

Changmin said, “As opposed to just saying the generic response of ‘My first attempt at acting was hard,’ the six months I spent in Jeju Island was an opportunity for me to reflect. I became more confident in myself. The time spent there filming was truly amazing for me, and despite it being difficult, I’ll never forget them.”

Yunho said, “The viewer ratings for my drama, ‘Heading to the Ground,‘ may have literally headed to the ground, but I was able to improve myself through acting. I’m working hard on showing a better image of myself through ‘Poseidon,’ and I’m trying to avoid rushing into it.”

When asked about their 2011 year-end plans and whether they’d choose between an acting award or a music award, Yunho replied, “Depends on what Changmin chooses… (laughter).”

Changmin replied, “I don’t want to give up either of those. I’d choose for both of us to receive an award from each. As painful as it was over the past two years and three months, I hope we achieve good results. No matter what award we win, I think it’ll be very meaningful for us because of the long hiatus we went through to get it.”

When asked about how they felt in being seniors to so many juniors heading over to the Japanese market, Changmin said, “Before us, BoA-sunbae worked hard on her own and achieved good results, making TVXQ’s advancement that much easier. I think I would’ve been upset if we worked hard on creating that road and nobody walked on it. Fortunately, SNSD, SHINee, and Super Junior as well as many others are working hard on their Japanese promotions, so it makes me feel proud. I am kind of jealous, too.”

He continued, “The Japanese market is not something to be taken lightly, so I’m against people thinking of it as a way to earn quick money. I hope they’ll begin promoting from the roots in representation of Korea.”

Now that the boys have passed their teens, the topic of dating was brought up.

Changmin answered, “I’m quiet, while Yunho-hyung is a lot more dynamic. I just like playing on the computer and hanging out with my hometown friends and having some drinks.”

Yunho replied, “I go bowling with my close friends. I don’t like drinking, so even if I do go out to drink with friends, I don’t drink.”

Right when Yunho ‘killed the atmosphere’ by saying he didn’t have a girlfriend, Changmin piped in by revealing that he had broken up with his girlfriend 10 months ago. When asked about the reason behind the break-up, he gave a bitter smile and replied that it was due to their international promotions. And even if they date, they wouldn’t be making it public.

Concluding with a message to their fans, TVXQ said, “We feel so guilty in having you wait for two years and three months. We know that you were all miserable because of us, so we’ll be showing you just how hard we’re working in order to show an improved image.”

Jo Kwon was just kidding about dating Ga-in in real life

A few days ago, 2AM’s Jo Kwon elated the “We Got Married” fandom with his confession about dating Brown Eyed Girls‘ Ga-In. As it turns out, he really was just goofing off - MBC’s “First Time in My Life“ decided to use a little snippet of his confession in their preview to draw in more viewers.

On the episode that aired on January 12th, the guests (including 2AM) started to discuss Jo Kwon and Ga-In’s relationship.

In a corner where they had to reveal each other’s sins/wrong-doings, Jinwoon pointed out, “Jo Kwon and Ga-In are a married couple on “We Got Married”, but are twin siblings on “All My Love“.”

MC Jung Hyun Don said, “I heard that they are dating in real life,” to which Jo Kwon replied, “Yeah, we’re dating.”

The 2AM members played along with it and surprised the two MCs. Byun Ki Soo bursted out, “Writers, why don’t you get ready? Why don’t we have any kind of information? Are you really dating? Let’s get rid of this corner.” Jo Kwon then said, “Ay, we’re not dating.”

MC Gil said, “What is stopping you guys from dating? Does she have a flaw?” Jo Kwon answered, “We really have grown close together so we feel like siblings. There is no flaw. I have a lot to do with 2AM and my wife is very busy as well. I don’t know…”

Fans plan to set up their own internet broadcasting station for JYJ

JYJ fans have set out to open an internet broadcasting station specifically for JYJ.

Despite achieving tremendous results with their first worldwide album, “The Beginning“, fans have been unable to hear their favorite trio sing on live broadcasts (aside from a congratulatory performance on KBS’s “Drama Awards“).

Motivated by their frustration, fans stepped forward and began collecting donations for an “Exclusive JYJ Internet Broadcasting Station.” With March 3rd as its scheduled broadcast date, fans have secured a server and are currently hiring DJs, scriptwriters, web designers, and other necessary staff members.

One fan commented, “It will be done in the same style as ‘Radio 21.’ We’ve prepared a large server that will be able to handle a large influx of fans.“ Another fan added, “Through perseverance, we have prepared a broadcasting station for JYJ, who have been met with difficulties on preparing on public broadcasting networks. We promise to immerse ourselves in JYJ and their music all day long, and to create a hot response so that public networks are forced to request their appearances on their shows.”

A hiring message on the program’s board reads, “We’d like to alert everyone that there are people that have bought the necessary equipment with their own money. The station will be run as non-profit, and hired staff (even if they have a Harvard diploma) will not be paid. The members of JYJ will see this homepage (Wouldn’t they be curious?).”

At such welcoming news, JYJ fans commented, “If we need a miracle, we will create it. Fighting, JYJ and fans!,” “Can we donate, I want to help in any way I can,” and “This is a respectful act, you are creating miracles.”

Who is that good-looking guy in the picture below??

He is no one other than Park Yu-chun‘s brother, Park Yu-hwan!

Park Yu-hwan has been cast in the new MBC weekend drama “Twinkle Twinkle“. He will play the role of Jang Yong‘s half-brother Lee Seo-woo. After quitting high school at the age of 18, he leads life with his half-brother and Go Doo-sim. The producers thought that he had potential after auditions and camera tests. Park Yu-hwan is currently receiving acting lessons and working hard.

On December 25, 2010, Yu-chun posted a picture of his brother with a post stating “Lovely Yu-hwan!!!^^ Work hard from now on.”

Will Yu-hwan be as good as Yu-chun in the KBS drama “Sungkyunkwan Scandal“? Let’s hope Park Yu-hwan suceeds in his first acting role alongside veteran actors like Kim Hyun-joo, Kim Suk-hoon, Lee Yu-ri, Jang Yong, Go Doo-sim, etc.

Jo Kwon and Ga-in end their marriage

It may have been a virtual marriage, but the “Adam” couple has been together for 17 months while filming ‘We Got Married‘ and their marriage has finally come to its end.

Jo Kwon and Ga-had the longest run on the show due to their popularity and most people thought they were really dating because they became so close. They may not be dating in real life, but the PD of the show has said that during the filming of the last episode, both Ga-in and Jo Kwon shed many tears.

It’ll be sad not to see them as a couple anymore, but no doubt we will be seeing much of both individuals with Brown Eyed Girls’ new album coming up and 2AM’s busy schedule making appearances on shows.

TVXQ reflects on first comeback stage, Yunho clarifies his ‘Thanks To’ message

After pre-recording for their comeback stage on KBS 2TV’s “Music Bank” today, the boys of TVXQ met with reporters to discuss their love for the stage, their ambition for a strong performance, and to clarify the controversial ‘Thanks To’ message.

Starting off, the duo shared, “We’ve wanted to stand on stage for a while. It’s really emotional.” Yunho continued, “It feels unique coming to the broadcast hall after such a long time. I’m more excited than nervous about our first stage. Unfortunately, I caught a cold, and wasn’t able to show the best stage possible.”

Changmin added, “While watching the year-end award ceremonies last year, all I could think about was wanting to stand on stage. I thought I’d be nervous, but maybe this is what it feels like to come back home after studying abroad.”

The reporter brought up how fans have waited for their return for over two years, to which Yunho replied, “We’ll work as hard as our fans have waited for our return. We’ll be standing on many stages as singers, and appear on variety shows as well. It’s important to do well, but even more important to try our best. Please look forward to us.”

In an interview with Star News, Yunho stated, “It’s been a while since we’ve stood on a Korean stage, so I was very excited, feeling very much like a rookie again. We’ve gotten a lot of juniors here at the broadcast hall, and I felt thankful in being greeted by them. We’ll be promoting ‘Keep Your Head Down‘, and we’ll show a good image to our fellow seniors, juniors, and our fans.”

Changmin added, “It feels good returning to Korea. The broadcast hall feels like our home, it’s very fun.”

Regarding the controversy surrounding ‘the second coming of TVXQ‘ statement in his ‘Thanks To’, Yunho clarified, “It’s just an expression of our feelings in starting our activities again as a duo. After a long while, Changmin and I have released an album, the message was just meant to be an expression of greeting our fans again. It’s our new sense of determination.”

When asked about the differences between singing a song with two members as opposed to five, Yunho answered, “First of all, you need more stamina. Changmin took charge of the high notes while I covered the lower notes. I was worried about whether they’d match, but thankfully it harmonizes well. We tried to pay attention to every part of our choreography. It’s an album we’re confident in, as we’ve put our best in it for our fans to look forward to.”

The duo also completed an interview with KBS 2TV’s “Entertainment Relay,” which will broadcast at 9 PM KST on January 8th.

Netizens buzz over JYJ Yoochun’s lyrics for “Untitled Song”

Although their album has yet to be released, a specific track from JYJ has been garnering a lot of speculation.

“Untitled Song Part 1” was composed by member Yoochun and features lyrics expressing his experience under SM Entertainment.

A segment from his lyrics state:

“In 2003, we finished our first match after months of rehearsal
By 2004, we were the rookies of the month
But unable to be satisfied with all of the rookie awards,
We began desiring for more
In 2005, we advanced into Japan
Thought it would be as easy as Korea
But after selling only 4,000 copies of our first single
Our confidence dropped to the floor
We couldn’t even speak Japanese,
Every day consisted of pacing between our dorm and the company
It was an imprisonment under the disguise of what’s best for us
Excessive loneliness, tears, and anger
We said those were what turned us into one,
That no matter what would happen, to never disband..
But I’m going to turn my back to you, since you already changed”

While it’s clear that Yoochun was recounting his frustrations with SME, netizens have been puzzling over whether or not the song was an indirect statement involving TVXQ as well. Jaejoong’s lyrics for “Pierrot” received similar attention, but an interview clarified that the song was about ”the reality of the education system“.
